At St Laurence’s College there are a number of students who enjoy playing and competing in Chess.

Associated Independent Colleges Competition

This enthusiasm enabled them to win the Associated Independent Colleges (AIC) Aggregate Trophy for five of the first six years of AIC competition. There are Senior and Junior teams of four boys. Competition is conducted over seven Friday afternoons on a home and away basis during Term 2 each year.

Brisbane Independent Schools Competition

St Laurence’s Primary Students compete in the Brisbane Independent Schools Competition for Chess. The Chess competition is open for students from Years 5 to 7.

Ms Emily Allan is the AIC Chess Coordinator. Ms Raylene Kendall is the Primary Chess Coordinator.
