Cycling

Formed in 2012, St Laurence’s College Cycling already has over 50 riders and is open to all members of the College community, from students in Years 5 to 12, to their families and Lauries staff.

SLC Cycling promotes a healthy lifestyle while raising money to support various charities through rides such as the ‘Brissie the the Bay’ and ‘Brisbane to Gold Coast’. The events cater for all abilities and are about participation rather than competition.

Membership is free and entitles you to discounts from a local bicycle store, involvement in bicycle workshops and tours.

Pedal Prix

The Technology Challenge is held in Maryborough each year. This annual competition involves racing ‘human powered vehicles’ around a 1.4km street circuit non-stop for 24 hours.

Each year more than 105 trikes participate in this endurance event from over 50 schools.
