In 2011, St Laurence’s College was represented on the Lord Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council initiated by Lord Mayor Campbell Newman and involving Year 10 representatives from secondary schools in the Brisbane City Council District. As the representative from St Laurence’s College, Year 10 student Lawson Costello contributed bold initiatives supported by practical solutions, in his joint venture with other members of the Council to exchange ideas on issues impacting youth and advise the Lord Mayor on potential solutions.
