Learning Enrichment Centre

The role of the Enrichment Centre is to provide support for students across all subject areas, allowing exceptional students to maximise their potential and have equal access to the curriculum. The Enrichment staff consists of a number of teachers and teacher aides, including specialist Learning Support and ESL teachers.

The Enrichment program caters for:

  • Students with low levels of literacy and numeracy,
  • Students with diagnosed disabilities,
  • Students with a language background other than English,
  • Students of Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander heritage, and
  • International Students.

Staff provide assistance with assignments, written and spoken assessment tasks, study skills, obtaining special consideration where required and supervision of amended exam conditions. This support is provided through monitoring, reduced class sizes in English with specialist teachers, literacy classes, in class support with an additional teacher or teacher aide, withdrawal from class in small groups and specifically designed computer programs.

The Enrichment Centre also provides before and after school tutoring and runs the Compass Program (a mentoring programme for students).
