COVID-19 | Health Information

The health and wellbeing of our students and staff is our priority and we are working quickly to respond to the COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) pandemic outbreak, as information comes to hand.

COLLEGE UPDATES

Updates are provided from our College Principal to our community as new information becomes available from the Queensland Government Department of Health, EREA, Brisbane Catholic Education and a variety of other reliable sources.

We urge all parents/guardians and those in our College community to stay up to date with information posted regularly below and live on our College App. For further information, please contact the College directly (07) 3010 1111 or email slc@slc.qld.edu.au.

OUR RISK MANAGEMENT TEAM

The College Risk Management Team continues to examine developments closely and a number of programs of work are in progress to ensure our school responds quickly, appropriately and effectively. The school-wide Response Plan has been developed and the College Principal regularly updates the community as information comes to hand.

EFFECTIVE HAND HYGIENE

It is important to remember that wearing a mask as well as effective hand and sneeze/cough hygiene is the best defence against viruses and can help prevent the spread of illness. It is important to lead by example and encourage students and your family to:

  • wash hands regularly with soap and water thoroughly for 20 seconds, before and after eating, and after going to the toilet
  • use alcohol-based hand sanitiser if soap is not available
  • cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or the inside of your elbow
  • dispose of tissues in the bin immediately
  • if you’re unwell, stay at home and avoid contact with others such as touching, kissing or hugging
