Joint College LEX program welcomes 400+ staff

The College today welcomed staff from Iona College and Padua College to connect and collaborate through the Learning Exchange Program.

The Learning Exchange, or LEX as it is more commonly known, is a joint initiative between Iona, Padua and St Laurence’s College, and forms a new model for schools working together, sharing resources and developing teacher expertise.

Together, more than 400 staff from Padua, Iona and St Laurence’s Colleges, gathered at St Laurence's College in ERPAC, the Edmund Rice Performing Arts Centre, for the 2020 Professional Learning Day, Connecting for Clarity.

The event also welcomed guest presenters Ms Bronwyn Jones (Teacher Educator, University of Melbourne / Primary School Music Teacher), Ms Terri Campbell (Literacy Consultant) and Mr Tom Campbell (Education Consultant).

While there is a continuing priority on providing outstanding learning opportunities for the over 4,500 students enrolled in the colleges, there is a clear focus on developing personal excellence, for both students and teachers.

In unpacking the main theme of the day, “Connecting for Clarity”, St Laurence's College Principal Mr Chris Leadbetter, commended the staff on their continuing work and past successes.

The day concluded with teachers working together in a series of 17 tailored workshops with guest and staff presenters.
