Weeks 2 and 3 of AIC Sport
The past fortnight has been action-packed as our Lauries teams took to the fields, and classrooms for Rounds 2 and 3 of AIC competition. In Round 2, Lauries travelled to Shorncliffe to face St Patrick’s College, and the results were outstanding. Across all year levels, the College won the vast majority of Aggregate Games, highlighted by a dominant performance from our 1st XV Rugby team.
Round 3 saw Lauries return home to host St Edmund’s College. Once again, it was a day of success and pride, with the College securing victories in all Aggregate fixtures across the three major sports. Our 1st teams also rose to the occasion, securing strong wins in front of a supportive home crowd.
Looking Ahead to Round 4 – Back to Runcorn Day
This Saturday 24 May marks a significant event on the Lauries sporting calendar – Back to Runcorn. We look forward to welcoming back our Old Boys to celebrate our rich sporting tradition as we take on our long-time rivals, Marist College Ashgrove. With pride, passion, and tradition on the line, it promises to be a memorable day of school spirit and fierce competition. We encourage the entire Lauries community to come along, wear black and gold, and get behind our teams.
Cross Country Season Underway
The 2025 Cross Country season is off and running! The first warm-up meet was held at Curlew Park this week, giving our runners a chance to test their legs and get race-ready. Next week, Lauries will be hosting the final warm-up meet at Runcorn, with all AIC schools in attendance. This meet will be the final hit-out before the AIC Cross Country Championships in early June. Best of luck to all our runners in their preparation.
Representative Sport Update
Representative sport is well underway this term, with many Lauries students proudly gaining selection in both District and Met East representative teams across a range of sports. With additional trials scheduled throughout the term, we encourage all families to stay informed via the School App for the latest updates and announcements.
