Runcorn Sports Precinct Upgrade – A Legacy Opportunity for the Lauries Community
Following the announcement of the major upgrade to the Runcorn Sports Precinct, St Laurence’s College is pleased to share further details about one of the most anticipated features of the project—the reinstatement of the iconic white picket fence around Field 1.
This fence has long been a symbol of Lauries tradition, and its return reflects the strong advocacy of our Old Boys and wider community. More than just a visual enhancement, the fence represents pride, belonging and the enduring legacy of those who have walked the College grounds.
As part of this initiative, the College is offering a unique opportunity for families, Old Boys and supporters to secure a personalised plaque on a picket, creating a lasting tribute to their connection with St Laurence’s College.
Picket Sponsorship Options include:
- Individual Picket – $250 each
- Generational Pickets (Set of 5) – $1,100 per set
All donations via the Australian Sports Foundation are tax-deductible.
Generational Pickets allow donors to sponsor a set of five pickets, which may be personalised individually or left unnamed for future generations to honour. Each plaque can include up to three lines of text (14 characters per line), with recognition styles such as family names, initials or more. Once a donation is made, the College Development Team will contact donors to confirm their preferred inscription.
Your Support Makes a Difference
Funds raised through the picket program will directly support the broader Runcorn upgrade, which includes:
- Reinstallation of the white picket fence around Field 1
- Construction of cricket nets to support skill development
- Comprehensive field rejuvenation and maintenance
- Installation of additional track and field facilities
- Further enhancements to elevate the overall sporting experience
This is more than an upgrade—it is a chance to honour the past, invest in the future and leave a visible mark on a space that has shaped generations of Lauries men.
