"Our Lionheart students embody the true meaning of being Lionhearted — brave, determined and ready to step forward with purpose. In living out Facere et Docere, they not only achieve, they teach through example. Their stories reflect both courage and contribution," Ms Loyden said.

Oscar Dean entrenched himself into the cultural side of the College, representing a number of bands and orchestras as well as being the 2025 Music Captain.
After leaving the College, Oscar will look to balance his life, his music and his studies (preservation and/or conservation Science).
"Our family has valued our time with the College. We have seen Oscar grow in his self confidence, with an awareness and acceptance of who is is as an individual. He is prepared to embrace new experiences and won't let a fear of other people's opinions inhibit his opportunities," Kristie (Oscar's Mum) said.
2025 College Captain, Luca Ellero, has led by example in 2025. Luca's exceptional leadership culminated with his being the recipient of the Facere et Docere award (the College's most prestigous award) at the 2025 Secondary School Awards.
Luca also represented the College's First XI Football side and plans to study a Double Degree of Engineering and Economics at The University of Queensland in 2026.
"(One of our proudest moments was) when the Principal called me late last year and said that he had Luca with him and had something to tell me - Luca then got on the phone and announced he had been elected as School Captain for 2025 - very proud family moment!" Rebecca Ellero (Luca's Mum) said.
Jack Hussey has been motivated to achieve his goals at Lauries, both in an academic and sporting context.
We look forward to seeing Jack continue his academic journey at The University of Queensland, where he will be studying a Bachelor of Pharmacy (followed by a Doctor of Medicine).
"(Our favourite memory of Jack's time at the College) was him Making the First XVIII team this year which has been a goal of his from Year 5. Jack continues to chase his career and personal goals through the solid foundation Lauries has provided in addition to his home life," Sarah and Steven Hussey (Jack's parents) said.
Mackinnon Moffat has represented the College in 2025 as the Solidarity and Culture Prefect and has performed as part of Brotherhood.
Mackinnon valued the community of Lauries and events like Sony Camp made a major impact on him. Mackinnon has his heart set on studying a Double Degree with either Engineering or Law.
"He has developed into a well rounded and considerate young man. He enjoys helping others - and has grown academically, socially and emotionally. All in a supportive yet quietly challenging environment," Anne Moffat (Mackinnon's Mum) said.
Joseph O'Rielly has taken full advantage of the sporting opportunities available at the College, particularly that of AFL and Basketball.
Jospeh will look to continue his sporting pursuits after school, studying a Diploma of Leadership and Management as well as a Diploma of Sport at TAFE.
"Joe has grown into a respectful and kind young man. His mates are the same and have stayed a tight knit group from the start," Molly O'Rielly (Joseph's Mum) said.
Patrick Roehrig has made the most of the VET pathways on offer at St Laurence's College and this culminated at the 2025 Secondary School Awards, where Patrick was recognised as the VET Apprentice of the Year!
Through the assistance of Mr James McLauchlan, key staff and his family, Patrick has gone on to achieve great things in his electrical apprenticeship.
"During his time at Lauries, we’ve seen Pat grow into a kind, capable and confident young man. He’s developed strong skills, independence and a real sense of purpose. We have personally loved watching Pat excel in areas he is passionate about and is now focused on his future. We hope Pat follows his passion to become an electrician, continues to learn, work hard and embrace every opportunity that comes his way. Most importantly, we hope he surrounds himself with good people and strong leaders and draws on the Lauries network to help him succeed," Toni-Ann Roehrig (Pat's Mum) said.
Billy Rowan has been a cornerstone of the 2025 cohort - representing the College as Vice Captain as well as being First XV Captain.
Beyond the gates, Billy will be taking a gap year to help him determine his future!
"Listening to Billy speak in front of the school at the Commissioning Ceremony (as Vice Captain) was a very special and a very proud moment. Billy was also Captain of the First XV (Rugby Union) and I am so proud of the way he leads the boys and sets an example further young Lauries men," Colleen Rowan (Billy's Mum) said.
Charles Taylor's leadership as College Vice Captain in 2025 has been fantastic and he has fully embraced the opportunities made available to him on his Lauries Journey!
In 2026, Charlie is planning to study a Double Degree, integrating a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and a Master of Engineering with the Diploma of Languages (majoring in Japanese Advanced).
"Charlie has developed in all facets of his growth from a young man to a wonderful almost adult. His academic achievement has been outstanding and his peer group and friends he has made are fabulous," Mark Taylor (Charlie's Dad) said.
Finn Totterman was one of the College's Academic Prefects in 2025 and also performed for Big Brotherhood.
Beyond his academics and cultural impact on the College, Finn has gone above and beyond for his peers - particularly in Year 11 as a Peer Mentor. At this stage, Finn plans to study a Bachelor of Advanced Sciences at The University of Queensland next year.
"With the support and guidance of teachers Finn has developed into a confident young man who knows himself, is able to try new things and is also able to ask for help when he needs support and encouragement. His Lauries journey has taught him it is totally ok to ask for help. This ethos has also made Finn offer help and assistance to other kids in the school as he appreciates so much the help that was given to him," Bridget Totterman (Finn's Mum) Said.
Anlin Tso embodies the Lauries Journey - embracing the sporting, cultural and academic pathways.
In 2025 alone, Anlin led the College as a Solidarity and Culture Prefect, represented the First VI Volleyball as well as a number of orchestras and choirs, including String Orchestra 1 and Brotherhood and received the ADF Long Tan Leadership and Teamwork Award at the Secondary School Awards.
Beyond school, Anlin plans to study in the fields of Economics or Finance.
"During his 8 years Lauries Jounery, I can see Anlin's change day by day. He has grown into a man who understands responsibility, love and the importance of building his future," Jing Zhang (Alin's Mum) said.
