Senior 50 Day Mass

On Friday morning we celebrated a special Mass for our Seniors' last 50 days of school. One of the most humbling things about this Mass was it was not on our schedule of Mass for the term. The seniors came to us last week requesting to have a Mass to mark this celebration which shows the strength of spirituality in our students, realising how God intersects into their lives. The Year 12 parents and students fill our chapel and as usual everyone sang together in one voice.

The homily of Father Will concentrated on three key themes of persistence, prayer and patience. Father looked at how over the coming weeks our Seniors will have times when they may feel overwhelmed and want to give up but through patience and persistence they can strive forward. The idea of prayer fits with the Seniors' realisation of the importance of Mass to mark their milestone. On our upcoming Year 12 Retreat we will look at the story of St Christopher and acknowledge who carries us and who we carry in our lives. We hope over their last 50 days our Seniors can carry others who need help through their struggles and let themselves be carried by those who want to guide them.
