Sports Wrap-up - Recap of Sporting Events
Last weekend, St Laurence’s College competed against Padua in the final round of Term 2 AIC fixtures.
In Chess, we had a great evening, winning the majority of games, and collecting undefeated seasons for our Junior A and B teams. Overall, the College finished 2nd in the AIC Aggregate, which is a great achievement.
The College had a very competitive day in Rugby Union, winning the majority of games played. The 9A and 7A teams must be congratulated for winning Premierships in their division. In the 1st XV, the Firsts unfortunately lost a very tight game played in front of one of the biggest crowds we have had in recent history at Runcorn. This loss unfortunately cost the team the Premierships, but congratulations must go to all involved as they finished the season in a worthy 2nd place. Overall, Lauries maintained their 4th spot in the Rugby Aggregate, which is a very respectable result.
In football, the College had another big day, winning almost all games played. Congratulations must go to the 3rd XI, 4th XI, 8A, 7A, and 7B teams who clinched Premierships. To make the day more special, Lauries once again won the prestigious Football Aggregate Shield. This is a great achievement. Congratulations to all students and staff involved.
Thank you!
We extend our gratitude to everyone who participated in sports throughout Term 2. It was a busy term, and we sincerely appreciate the efforts of everyone involved. Without the dedication of staff, students, and parents, sports would not be possible. So, once again, a massive thank you to all of you.
