Celebrating Book Week 2025
Book Week at Its Boldest: Where Boys Became Bookish Legends
Book Week burst into our school like a dragon from a fantasy novel — bold, brilliant, and unforgettable. The library transformed into a world of wonder, with displays like Under the Sea and Enchanted Garden proving that even the toughest adventurers love a good story. We celebrated CBCA’s notable books, honoured our prize winners and in Week 5 welcomed author Brian Falkner, who inspired future storytellers. The Primary Book Parade brought colour and character, with boys proudly dressed as their favourite heroes.
Week 6 was abuzz as lunchtimes came alive with music and games. Dr Young and Big Brotherhood serenaded their audience with some marvelous renditions of popular tunes. There were also performances from the Year 9 band - Grand Theft Audio and a solo performance from Ethan Lucas. Students were also able to engage in games such as scavenger hunts, Guess the Reader and Match the Shelfie to the Selfie to keep brains buzzing and spirits high. Classes were entertained by a range of activities including a memory challenge tied to our Magical Lost and Found cabinet which sparked creativity and much amusement. The Reading Passports added excitement, with Mrs Templeton stamping each literary conquest like a true passport controller.
And the adventure continues! Week 7 features Real Men Read, where our Primary boys and their dads can share their love of reading with each other. We also have our student book club Books and Bites celebrating the literary event of the year with full of books, snacks and joyful chaos at a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.
Last but not least, our library enthusiastically celebrated School Library Day on August 20 by embracing the spirit with flair—dressing up as characters from witches to princesses and even a rabbit! We celebrate our library because it is more than shelves and silence; it’s where boys become thinkers, dreamers and readers. Here's to the stories that shape us — and the legends we become.
