Mini Vinnies Update

SLC Superchef 2025 has seen some truly terrific dishes, with boys learning real life skills and taste-testing delicious morsels at morning tea.

Some interesting highlights this year, including a distinct Korean influence filtering in and being embraced by all judges. An incredibly big thank you to all families who gave up their time and own expenses to help the students create some really memorable meals. We know that Superchef can be a drain on both patience and resources at home, and we thank you greatly for all your help over the weeks of the competition. Superchef this year also had many high school boys, who fondly remember the Superchef competition from their time in Primary, come back to make their own judgements about the up-and-coming chefs within the College. Every session was jam-packed with students taste testing and casting their votes.

Wheelchairs for Kids has $1529.30 coming their way, which is testament to both the generosity of the Lauries community and the popularity of the Superchef competition. This equates to around 3 wheelchairs – a life-changing donation to whomever receives them. This amount is also a record for us in any year of Superchef!

Big thanks in particular to all the primary staff who helped out with supervising this bigger-than-Ben-Hur event as well as special mention to Mini Vinnies members Francesco, Ollie and Mufaro for assisting most days with taking donations.

And now for the announcements....A massive congratulations to all the finalists! These boys cooked a total of 3 dishes each.
