From the Pastoral Office

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

As we move further into the Term, I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your continued partnership in supporting the formation and growth of the young men in our community. At St Laurence’s College, we remain deeply committed to fostering students who are not only academically capable, but also respectful, responsible and compassionate in their daily interactions.

Parents looking for additional guidance and support may find the Raising Children Network a valuable resource. This Australian Government-funded website offers free, evidence-based advice on a wide range of topics including teenage behaviour, mental health, school engagement and online safety. The information is developed by experts and presented in practical, easy-to-understand ways to support families in everyday parenting decisions. You can access this resource here.

House Choir

House Choir will be held on the last day of Term and promises to be a wonderful celebration of house spirit, participation and community. All students are expected to attend this special event and support their house as we come together to enjoy an afternoon of music, enthusiasm and College pride.

A Consistent Approach to Learning and Behaviour

Across the College, we continue to embed our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) approach. This framework ensures that all students experience consistency in expectations, while also being supported to reflect on their actions and grow from them.

In classrooms, staff are focusing on:

  • Clarity in expectations and learning
  • Challenge through engaging and purposeful tasks
  • Connection with peers, staff, and the learning environment

Students are regularly reminded of the standards we expect of a Lauries Gentleman, particularly our core principles:

  • Be Safe
  • Show Respect (for people and property)
  • Participate Fully in learning
  • Strive to be your best self

These principles underpin everything we do and guide students both inside and outside the classroom.

As we continue through the Term, we will remain focused on creating environments where every student:

  • Feels safe and supported
  • Is challenged to grow
  • Takes responsibility for their actions
  • Contributes positively to the College community

Thank you again for your support of St Laurence’s College and the important role you play in shaping the young men we are privileged to work with each day.

Live Jesus in Our Hearts…Forever.
