Year 9 Subject Selection Guidance for Year 10 Pathways
Year 9 students are currently participating in Subject Selection preparation sessions, where they are introduced to key information to support their transition into Year 10 and future Senior Pathways. This includes an overview of subject types, how subject choices align to QCE and ATAR pathways and guidance on how to use the Senior Curriculum Handbook to make informed decisions. Students are also completing a QCE Pathway survey to guide subject selection interviews. Students who are yet to the complete their QCE Pathways survey can do so here.
Families are encouraged to continue Subject Selection conversations at home as students consider their options.
Key Dates to Note:
- Thursday 11 June (Term 2, Week 8): Senior Curriculum Handbook distributed & Subject Information Evening
- Monday 27 July (Term 3, Week 3): Subject Selection Interviews
- Wednesday 6 August (Term 3, Week 4): Subject Selections Due
Further information will be shared in the coming weeks to support both students and families through this process.

For those that have registered for work experience in June, you will be notified by the Careers office when a placement has been confirmed. Please be patient as the team works to find placements for all students.

TAFE at School
Get a head start on your future with TAFE at School. You can complete a nationally recognised qualification while still at school, helping you become job ready and build pathways into future study or careers. TAFE courses usually replace one senior subject and fit around the school timetable.

Scholarships & Financial Assistance
UNSW Co-op Program
The UNSW Co-op Program is a prestigious scholarship and industry placement program offered across selected business, technology, engineering and actuarial studies degrees at the University of New South Wales. In addition to financial support, students receive extensive industry experience, mentoring and professional development opportunities through partnered organisations. Scholarships can include up to four years of financial support and multiple industry placements during the degree.

Bond University Vice Chancellor’s Elite Scholarship

Entry for Australian Year 12 students

Griffith Film School offers Experience Week programs for Year 11 and 12 students interested in filmmaking, animation or game design. Across the week-long program, you’ll choose a study area, learn from industry-connected teachers, build practical skills and create work for your portfolio while experiencing what it’s like to study at Griffith Film School. 2026 registrations are now open for Week 1 starting 29 June and Week 2 starting 6 July. Musical Theatre Audition Workshops
Are you planning to audition for a tertiary Musical Theatre course? Find out what it takes to audition successfully at one of GU's Musical Theatre Audition Workshops. Travel Overseas as part of your QUT Degree
Studying overseas can give you valuable life experience, help you build confidence and prepare you for a global career. It also shows employers skills like independence, flexibility and initiative. Young ChangeMakers Program for Year 11 students
If you’re in Year 11 and have big ideas, the Young Change Makers program could be for you. Over 4 days, you’ll meet other students, explore real-world challenges and build your leadership and communication skills. The program includes:
- a 4-day (3-night) stay at UQ’s St Lucia campus
- interactive workshops, keynote sessions and social activities
- a chance to experience university life
- a Young Change Makers reunion at UQ Open Day 2026.
The program runs from 29 November to 2 December 2026 and applications close on 20 September 2026.
