Changes to Medication on Camps
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
To support the highest standards of student safety and medication management, St Laurence's College is introducing a new medication requirement for all camps, retreats, immersions and overnight excursions.
From Term 4 2026, all medications required by students while attending camps or immersions must be supplied in a pharmacy-prepared Webster Pack.
A Webster Pack is a sealed, clearly labelled medication management system prepared by your pharmacist. It provides an accurate and organised way for medications to be administered while students are away from home.
To arrange a Webster Pack, please:
- Take your child's medication to your pharmacy in its original packaging with the current pharmacy label attached; or
- Provide the pharmacy with any relevant Specialist letterĀ citing titration or medication instructions if applicable.
Most pharmacies can prepare a Webster Pack for a small fee. We encourage families to organise this well in advance of the camp or immersion departure date.
This change is being implemented as a best-practice measure to:
- Enhance student safety and wellbeing;
- Ensure accurate medication administration;
- Reduce the risk of medication errors;
- Provide clear identification and dosage instructions for staff; and
- Support consistent medication management across all school camps and immersions.
By standardising how medications are supplied, we can create a safer environment for students while streamlining the management of medications for families and staff.
