AIC Sport Wrap-Up – Term 3

Term 3 AIC Sport is off to a flying start, with our Basketball, Rugby League and Tennis teams beginning their seasons against Villanova College last weekend. It was a fantastic opening round, with competitive matches, outstanding effort and great sportsmanship displayed across all year levels.

Both our Rugby League and Tennis programs claimed the aggregate victories on the day, highlighting the strength and depth of our teams. While both First teams were narrowly defeated in hard-fought contests, they showed plenty of promise and will no doubt continue to improve as the season progresses.

A special mention must go to our Basketball program, which enjoyed an outstanding start to the season with several impressive team victories.

Congratulations also to our 1st V, who produced a memorable performance to defeat Villanova's First V, handing the reigning powerhouse their first AIC defeat in several years. It was a significant achievement and a testament to the hard work and commitment of both the players and coaching staff.

AIC Golf Championships

Last week, our AIC Golf team competed in the annual AIC Golf Championships at Keperra Golf Club. Battling challenging, windy conditions throughout the day, our boys displayed great determination and resilience to finish 8th overall.

Congratulations to all players who represented the College, and a sincere thank you to Mr Jesse D'Amico for his dedication and leadership of the program.

Looking Ahead

The AIC season continues over the next two weeks with away fixtures against St Patrick's College, followed by home matches against St Edmund's College. We also have a number of representative trials and competitions taking place during this period, and we wish all students the very best as they represent both the College and their respective associations.

Sports Day

A reminder that our annual Sports Day will be held on Wednesday 12 August. This year's event will once again showcase our newly renovated Crawford Oval, with its new picket fence providing a fantastic centrepiece for one of the College's great community events.

Further information, including event details and the day's schedule, will be distributed to families next week.
