Principal's Address

I write to wish all our prospective families a safe and holy Christmas. As we wind down the year, I extend our best wishes to the graduating Class of 2025. Our 270 Seniors move to tertiary study or work and we ask for God’s Blessings on all of these young men. The leaving ceremonies left me with an overwhelming sense of pride for the achievements of this cohort. They are fine, gentle young men.

Many would know that we this year celebrated our 110th year as a College. The multiple celebrations, College photos and formal events have allowed us to celebrate all that is good about Lauries. It has been a special year.

Next year we welcome 168 new students to Year 5 with 290 boys moving into Secondary Schooling in Year 7. At the College, we call the journey through school the Lauries Journey. This journey is for parents, staff, friends of the College and, most importantly, for our students. With a student population of over 2,000 in 2025, we are mindful that each student has their own unique Lauries Journey and we look forward to sharing this experience with you during your family's time at the College.

In 2026, we will finalise our three-year Strategic Plan and further develop our College Master Plan. I look forward to sharing these updates with you next year.

Throughout the course of this year, our boys have continued to excel in their studies with success across the wide variety of subjects offered at St Laurence’s College, new and enhanced pathway options and greater opportunities to succeed. Over 900 students participated in the Music program and approximately 1,500 boys participated in College sport. We are an organisation that values excellence, connection and engagement. We look forward to continuing some exciting business, university and co-curricular partnerships in the new year.

Again, I wish you all well over the Christmas and New Year’s break. For those who are beginning their Lauries Journey, you are most welcome at our school. I pray that your experience will be transformational.

Best wishes for the holiday period.
