Runcorn Redevelopment

St Laurence’s College is pleased to announce the successful completion of the highly anticipated redevelopment of its Runcorn Sports Precinct, marking a major milestone in the College’s commitment to enhancing sporting opportunities for students and the wider community.

We recently marked the memorable reopening with our Return to Runcorn event, featuring a special jersey presentation to our First XI and First XV, the unveiling of a commemorative plaque to mark this milestone, and the blessing of Fields 1, 2 and 3 by Father William Aupito Iuliano.

The transformed precinct now features upgraded playing surfaces, new sports infrastructure and improved training facilities—ushering in a new era for Lauries Sport. The redevelopment reflects both strategic planning and a long‑term vision for student wellbeing, participation and performance.

Fields 1, 2 and 3 have undergone a complete renewal, providing consistent, high‑grade playing surfaces suitable for multiple sports. This includes a redesigned and resurfaced #1 Rugby Oval as well as a modern Football precinct, equipped for training and competitive fixtures.

A state‑of‑the‑art scoreboard has been installed in between Field 1 and Field 3. The technology available will be able to provide livestreamed footage, scoreboards and much more – enhancing the atmosphere and professionalism of game days at Runcorn.
