Primary Spotlight – Maths Videos Prepare Us To Learn
This week, our Primary Spotlight is “Maths Videos Prepare Us to Learn.”
Before some Maths lessons, we watch a short video about the concept we are going to learn. This is called flip teaching because some of the learning happens before we come to class. We think this helps because we already have some prior experience with the Maths concept. When we get to class, we can engage more quickly, ask better questions and focus on applying what we have learned. The videos also help us become more self-directed learners. We can pause, replay and think about the examples before putting our learning into practice. As Year 6 Primary Leaders, we think being prepared helps us make the most of our learning time in class.
