Mini Vinnies News-Kate Flanagan

A huge thank you to all students who bought pancakes at last week’s Shrove Tuesday Pancake sale. It was a monstrous College success and raised over $1200 for the College House charities – a fantastic effort.

The Mini Vinnies boys were in their element, helping to shake pancakes and then sell them once the older boys had cooked them. We had a tremendous amount of students who volunteered their time and energy both before school and at morning tea on Tuesday. Thanks also must go to the many Primary families who donated pancake shakers – the Zaini family outdid themselves with Sam (6R) bringing in 6 to donate!

Show Your True Colours was postponed due to Cyclone Alfred and will now be held on Friday Week 9. This is the same day of Primary Cross Country. Boys are welcome to bring in a team jersey to wear and a gold coin to contribute towards Caritas. If boys choose to wear a vest/singlet (AFL or basketball jerseys, for example) they will need to keep their HPE shirt on that they wear to school that day and put the singlet over the top. We look forward to another fun event!

The Mini Vinnies boys were presented with their St Vincent De Paul badges on Whole School Assembly last week. It was terrific to acknowledge the incredible work that these boys have committed themselves to this year.
