Primary Spotlight – Don’t Get Bitter, Get Better
Sometimes things don’t go the way we hope. You might not make the team you wanted, not get the position you aimed for, or feel disappointed when things seem unfair. It’s okay to feel upset—but what matters most is how you respond. Do you get bitter, or do you get better?

One of the greatest basketball players of all time, Michael Jordan, was famously cut from his high school basketball team. Instead of giving up or blaming others, he used that disappointment as motivation to train harder, improve his skills, and come back stronger. His setback became the start of his success.

Disappointment can feel tough, but it can also teach us resilience, humility, and determination. Respecting the decision, supporting your teammates, and asking your coach, “What can I do to improve?” are signs of real character.

Remember: setbacks are not the end of your story—they are often the beginning of your growth. Don’t get bitter… get better!
