Laurie’s Primary Curriculum Update – Term 3 week 3
We are straight back into our usual busy days this term, with lots of learning and fun happening for our Laurie’s Primary boys this term.
Bright Sparks Maths Challenge
Congratulations to the following students, Joseph Hodgetts, Sahan Mendis, Fred Simmons and Will Whitehouse, who travelled to Marist College in the first week of term to represent Laurie’s in a real-world Maths Challenge. The team did an amazing job throughout the day and displayed outstanding teamwork, higher order thinking and real-world problem-solving skills.
Student Led Conferences
I hope that you found the recent Student Led Conferences to be a positive and beneficial experience with your sons. These conferences are designed to get your son thinking about what he has achieved so far and where he would like to head for the remainder of the year. If you have any further questions regarding anything that came up in your conferences, please reach out to your class teacher in the first instance.
Laurie’s Impact Academy Day
On Thursday 16 July, four of our boys (Theo Baldwin, Hudson Maroney, Emmet McDaid and Callum McDermott) represented Laurie’s at the Impact Academy Day, held here at St Laurence’s College. The boys participated in a range of events throughout the day that focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaborative problem-solving. Congratulations on taking on this challenge with humility and a positive mindset boy’s!
Book Week at Laurie’s Primary coming up in week 4
We are excited to celebrate Book Week with a range of engaging activities across our Primary School, under this year’s theme: "Symphony of Stories." An email was sent to you last week with all the details pertaining to our book week events. Please remember to help your sons organise a book week costume for Mondays Parade!
A reminder - students are to come to school in their HPE uniform this day and are encouraged to get changed at school ready for the Period 1 Parade.
As always, if you have any questions relating to Learning and Teaching within the Primary school, please do not hesitate to contact me.
