Track and Field
This year, Track and Field at Lauries made some great progress and produced a number of outstanding individual performances.
The College finished 4th overall, our highest placing in a number of years, and just seven points outside the top three. While the total number of event wins was slightly down, our students achieved 51 Top 3 finishes, highlighting the growing depth and competitiveness within our program.
A special congratulations must go to our Open and Under 13 age groups, who both finished close runners-up in their divisions.
We also had 7 students win their AIC Track and Field events! Well done to the following students:

Thank all of the coaches involved in the program for their time and dedication—particularly our Head Coach, Mr Andre Sinclair, our Primary Coordinator, Mr Adam Stokes and our Age Group Coordinators, Mr Jesse D’Amico, Mr Lachlan Rodgers and Mr Alex Peace. Thank you also to all of our staff Track and Field coaches for their ongoing support and commitment to the students and the program.
CBSQ Basketball & AFLQ State Finals
This weekend, we have two sports representing Lauries in Queensland school tournaments.
In Basketball, our Year 9/10 team will compete in the CBSQ Basketball Tournament on the Gold Coast. The team has trained strongly throughout the year and will be looking to continue their great form against some of the best schools in the state.
In AFL, all three of our AFLQ teams will contest the State Finals at the Sunshine Coast. This is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the progress and commitment shown by all players and coaches throughout the season.
We wish all teams the very best of luck this weekend.
