Medicine and Dentistry Information Session
The Medicine and Dentistry Information Session was a great success, with strong attendance from interested students and families. Guest speakers from Griffith University and the University of Queensland shared valuable insights into their programs, application processes and entry requirements. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to learn more about pathways into these competitive fields. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the session’s success.

Key Application and Fixed Closing Dates
When you are applying for your chosen course, it’s vital to submit your application by the specified deadlines. This page has all the closing dates so you are fully prepared. Courses related to creative and performing arts may have additional requirements that need to be satisfied, including:
- Audition
- Interview
- Portfolio
- Questionnaire
Key Dates for 2025/2026
If you haven't yet applied, consider applying as soon as possible and before Term Four becomes totally hectic (and it will). The closing dates to apply for courses commencing in Semester One, 2026 are:
- 7 November 2025 for round offer on 21 November 2025
- 8 December 2025 for round offers on 23 December 2025 and 15 January 2025 (final changes to preferences for these round offers can be made until 12pm 19 December and 11.59pm 6 January, respectively)
An Offer Came In ... What’s Next?
So you've reached the offer stage in your tertiary application journey! It’s important to understand how you’ll be notified and how to respond quickly to secure your place. It’s important to know what options are available to you and how you will respond if you receive an offer. Click here (scroll down quite a way to the heading ‘Offers’) to read QTAC's information on:
- How you will be notified of your offer
- Responding to your offer - You can
- Accept - Check with the institution for enrolment details and dates.
- Decline - By declining your offer outright, you notify QTAC that you no longer wish to study or be considered for any other preferences.
- Defer - Rules for course deferral vary by institution. Please visit the deferment page on the QTAC website for institution policies.
- Conditional Response - By selecting a conditional response, you indicate that you would like to be considered for a higher preference.
- Offer round actions
ATAR Release
QTAC will release the ATAR to students 9.00am Thursday 18 December via the ATAR Portal. A reminder students can register for their ATAR in the ATAR portal from Tuesday 5 August.
ATAR Reports will be available via the QTAC School Portal for authorised users from midday onwards Thursday 18 December.
Final Subject Results for 2025 Year 12 Students
Final subject results and Senior Education Profiles (SEPs) for 2025 Year 12 graduates will be available from 9.00 am on Wednesday 17 December 2025. You can find them via your learning account in the Student Portal on the myQCE website. You will need your 10-digit Learner Unique Identifier (LUI) if you haven't as yet registered for the Student Portal. The Results FAQs contain information to help you understand your results and access your Senior Education Profile (SEP) when it is available. TAFE Updates
Commonwealth Prac Payment (CPP) for Diplomas of Nursing
The CPP (VET) will help eligible students in managing the costs associated with undertaking a mandatory placement as part of a Diploma of Nursing. This page provides information for students undertaking a Diploma of Nursing. For information on the CPP for higher education, visit the Department of Education website.
Free TAFE for Year 12 Graduates
To support Queensland's Year 12 graduates to successfully transition to employment, the Government is offering fee-free TAFE in high priority qualifications. The training is available through a range of Certificate III level vocational education and training (VET) courses as well as apprenticeships and traineeships. View the courses offered by TAFE Queensland and the full list of high priority qualifications is available on the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training website.

QUT are hosting campus tours where you can join them for a guided walking tour of Kelvin Grove and Gardens Point campuses and community spaces. UQ Updates
Queensland Mathematics Summer School
UQ’s Queensland Mathematics Summer School (QMSS) introduces Year 11 students to the beauty of advanced mathematical ideas and new ways of thinking. Students commencing Year 11 in 2026 who have chosen to study QCE Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics or IB Mathematics (HL or SL) are invited to apply for the 2026 event. The event will run from 20 - 23 January 2026 and applications close on 27 November 2025. Click here for more information and application details.

QBuild Apprenticeships
QBuild are currently recruiting apprentices to help deliver a massive pipeline of works for Queensland. QBuilders play a critical role in planning, building and maintaining essential public infrastructure, such as:
